Picture Day
Picture Day is tomorrow (Thursday). If you are ordering a package please send the envelope to school with your child with the information. Students may be out of dress code to "dress up" for pictures.
White Group sheet
The white groups received definitions of each of the words on the characterization sheet to assist them with answering the questions. They should know what each of the words means so they don't get stopped by lack of vocabulary understanding.

Me Box Presentations
Due to time contraints that came with our first week of spelling tests not all of the students were able to present their Me Boxes. They will complete their presentations on Monday in class. If your student brought home their box but didn't get to present please be sure they bring them back on Monday. I really enjoyed the presentations that were done today. Many students put a great deal of thought into their items.

Tuesday spelling
There seemed to be some confusion today about the spelling homework. On Tuesday the students will be given a specific task to complete that helps to reinforce the concept of the week. This week all of the groups were working with word structure so they were to highlight their rules/structures/patterns. They were to write down their task at the top of the page and write down two examples to help them at home. Next week I will be sure to give them a typed example of the task that I would like for them to complete to help avoid any confusion.

Bi-weekly report
A bi-weekly report was sent home today with the students. Mr Gahagan, the elementary principal, wants each teacher to send home some type of progress report every two weeks. You will see the one you received today two times per quarter. The other two times there will be a progress report and then a report card. Once these are signed we will send them to Mr. Gahagan for him to keep on file. If you have any questions concerning the reports please let us know.
