May's Math Syllabus

Here is the link to my calendar for the rest of the school year. I have posted the review units we will study and when each test will be. You may use this information to help your child prepare for each unit test. I will send home study guides which will greatly resemble the tests. I will print the calendar and send it home just in case you cannot access it.

Practice Tests

**Students will be taking practice EOG's on Monday and Tuesday. We will be taking these all day each day. Please try to make sure your students are on time and don't have to leave early those two days.

Just a reminder that tomorrow is spring picture day. Order forms were sent home last week. If you would like to order pictures please sent in payment tomorrow.  Students may be out of dresscode for pictures.

Math and Science HW 4/15-16/2013

Monday evening students should complete the following:
1. www.ixl.com skill R.22 level e
2. Study the definitions of shapes in their math notebook for the Geometry test on Wednesday.
3. Fill out permission for field trip and return tomorrow.

Tuesday evening students should
1. Study the definitions of shapes in their math notebook for the Geometry test tomorrow.
2. Kiser's homeroom only: Finish the Science Project on Land and Water features. This is due Wednesday. Refer to previous blog, green handout, and email for details on science project.
2. Layout nice clothes for class and individual pictures on Wednesday.

No math HW on Wednesday through Friday.

Field Trip Permission Form

A permission form for this week's field trip to "Math Mania" came home today in the Monday folder. Please sign and return this to school as soon as possible.  Students cannot attend the trip without one of these forms on file.

Proctors Needed

We are in need of many more proctors for the End of Grade tests that will be held May 29th and 30th.  If we do not get enough proctors then we will have to expand the testing over multiple weeks causing the campus to be shut down with no student movement.  PLEASE consider helping on one or both of those days. Information sent home

The student should have brought home a packet of item today to share with you. They should have:
*Picture order forms for individual, homeroom and schoolwide pictures. Pictures will be taken next Wednesday the 17th.

*Yearbook order forms. If you haven't already ordered and would like to purchase one the deadline is next Friday the 19th.

*Report Cards. Please look them over and sign the envelope. You may keep the report cards itself at home.

Junior Achievement

Students will begin a five week program called Junior Achievement on Thursday afternoon.  Junior Achievement is an interactive program that helps students learn about commerce. The leader, Mr. Ron Seitz, is energetic and keeps the children engaged during each session. Please be sure to ask your child what they learned in JA that day.

The white group was not given the worksheet they wrote in their agenda for this evening. They were copied but weren't distributed at the end of class.

Science Project

Kiser's homeroom has a science project due on Wednesday, April 17th. Students have to make a model that includes 4 land features and 2 water features. Students will receive instructions and a rubric today in science class.
